Curcumin supplementation
mg/day
A curcumin extract from turmeric, often about a gram a day. It is the extract, not a saffron mix or a curry habit.
Trials use a named curcumin extract at about a gram a day and watch mood or inflammation scores. A capsule that pairs curcumin with saffron, or turmeric in food, is a different exposure.
Also called turmeric extract, curcuminoids, BCM-95.

Curcumin supplementation→Depression
Higher Curcumin supplementation decreases Depression.
Lopresti 2015 found that 500 mg of curcumin twice a day versus placebo did not separate on the Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology in the first four weeks among 56 adults with major depression, then showed a group-by-time interaction from week 4 to week 8 (P=0.045). The authors call that partial support.
