Dominance strategy
Rank via coercion, intimidation, or formal power. Costly when institutions punish it.
Dominance works in zero-sum contests and weak-institution settings. In knowledge work it often backfires. Testosterone folklore is almost entirely a dominance story; prestige is the missing half.
